# Optional integrations

Optional ChatChat integrations and their extensions.yml settings.

`extensions.yml` controls optional integrations. Changes to this file require a server restart.

## Add-ons

| Setting                                             | Default | Effect                                                                                                      |
| --------------------------------------------------- | ------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `addons.deluxechat.inverse_priorities` | `false` | Selects the direction of format priorities. When true, smaller numbers win; when false, larger numbers win. |

| `addons.deluxechat.unicode_permission.private_chat` | `true`  | Requires `chatchat.utf` for non-ASCII characters other than ø in private messages.                          |
| `addons.towny.channels`                             | `false` | Enables the `TOWNY_TOWN` and `TOWNY_NATION` channel types. Requires Towny.                                  |
| `addons.discordsrv.channels_bridging` | `false` | Bridges ChatChat and DiscordSRV channels with matching DiscordSRV configuration names. Requires DiscordSRV. |
| `addons.essentials.vanish` | `true` | Uses EssentialsX vanish state when deciding whether players can see one another. |
| `addons.supervanish.vanish` | `false` | Uses SuperVanish/PremiumVanish vanish state when deciding whether players can see one another. |
| `addons.griefprevention.soft_mute` | `false` | Applies GriefPrevention soft mutes to public chat. Requires GriefPrevention. |

Vanilla vanish support is built in. Optional integrations are only available when the corresponding plugin is installed.

## Integration notes

* Enable Towny channels before adding Towny channel types. See [Channels](/helpchat-plugins/chatchat/channels.md).
* DiscordSRV channel names are the names from the DiscordSRV configuration, not the channel's display name in Discord.
* When either DeluxeChat Unicode setting is enabled, `chatchat.utf` grants permission to use otherwise restricted Unicode characters in that message type.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://wiki.helpch.at/helpchat-plugins/chatchat/extensions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
